An innovative and inspiring project that turns a non-place (to use French anthropologist Marc Augé‘s expression) situated in the heart of Vienna into a reinvented pulsating urban space. Provided with a new architectural design that surrounds, protects and interacts with a central space and responds to the wishes of the people for a freely accessible public place that adapts to different seasons. The architecture is shaped by a parametric development of curves that create a movement in the building form that respects the new passageways and central space. Its envelope, based on a triangular geometry for the structure opens towards the centre to allow an interaction between the indoor and outdoor space. On the inside and outside the construction panels provide light elements, view openings and acoustic boards. The main fixed parts of the interior are equally developed and aligned on the given geometrical lines and are orientated and open towards the main space in the centre.
