The concept of the inhabited bridge was to create a building with a new architectural form that is fixed on an existing bridge, the Forth Bridge in Scotland. The new structure respects the existing form by revolving around it. The solid floor elements present a contrast to the detailed bridge. The semi-transparent and slightly reflective glass facade adds another interesting feature and plays with the reflections of the environment.
Following the exterior architecture we also developed parts of the interior architecture.
Due to the height of the building and the surrounding view I decided to develop a Sky Garden on the top floors. It consists of a main floor with coffee bar and restaurant, a middle floor with a passageway and a terrace. Plants and green spaces are to be found in the whole area, both inside and outside. The given construction with the glass façade allows for an amazing view in all directions.
